Lessons in Life

The little boy entered home, put the school-bag aside, went straight to his mother and said "Maa, the school is to waive the fees for the kids whose families cannot afford to pay. I talked to my teacher, he said he can waive my fees. Maa, I do not need the money tomorrow."

It was at this early age, when he lost his father. He had 3 brothers and 3 sisters. The mother had to support the big family.

That winter-night, he was still studying in the dim-light when the mother came to him, she put her hand on his head, he closed the book and looked in her eyes..she looked determined.

She asked "In the class tomorrow, will the teacher ask, the kids, who want to get their fees waived, to raise their hands?" He lowered his eyes and nodded "yes". She said "I will get you the money tomorrow, you do not have to raise your hand".

Forgive me if i am wrong, but why pretend? I would have taken that waiver and used that fees for my further studies where I definitely would have had to pay.
